The Sports Assessment and Audit Board (SAAB)
The Sports Assessment and Audit Board (SAAB) is a pioneering initiative launched by the Confederation for Sports and Recreation Industry (CSRI). We are dedicated to elevating the standards of gyms and fitness centers, social clubs, academies, institutions with sports facilities and stadia across India through a comprehensive and certified audit system. Similarly SAAB would like to expand its services to cover more support systems and services of the Sports and Recreation Sector. Our goal is to ensure that sports and fitness facilities meet world-class standards, fostering better health and fitness outcomes for all.
Aligning Standards with International Best Practices

Creating a Regulated and Organized Industry
Creating an organized and regulated market for gyms, fitness centres, sports clubs, sports complexes and stadia to ensure consistency and reliability in service delivery.
Certified Star Rating System
Introducing a first-of-its-kind certified star rating system for gyms, fitness centres, social clubs, institutions with sports facilities, and stadia. This system will evaluate on parameters like:
- Presence and quality of requisite equipment
- Usability and maintenance of the equipment
- Safety measures in and around the facility
- Location and accessibility of the facility
- Cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Qualifications of instructors and trainers
